May 6th: You got to be kidding me. Again?! A cellphone video leaked showing how Georgia jogger was ambushed, shot, and killed by son and father.
This is absolutely brutal to watch and more disturbing to know the father and son reasoning behind their actions: we thought he was a burglar.
Police have identified the two men who chased him as Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34, of Brunswick. Neither has been arrested or charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
Former vice president Joe Biden is speaking out on the shooting death of an unarmed black man in South Georgia.
Biden, the Democrats’ likely pick for the presidential nominee, has joined a chorus of voices calling for justice in the killing of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery, who was shot by two white men while out for a jog in a Brunswick subdivision in late February.
Marcus Arbery said his son, who aspired to be a boxer, was athletic and known for taking daily jogs. Ahmaud Arbery lived in Brunswick, one town over from Satilla Hills, where the McMichaels live.
“He took his body very seriously, always ran and had pride in everything he did,” said Marcus Arbery. “It cuts me deeply how his life was taken. I would have preferred them to come and take my life instead.”
We hope justice is served for this young man and senseless crimes like this STOPS. Let’s see how long it takes for arrests to be made.
